This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit pacificwesttax.com or contact us through the site. It is provided to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

1. Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and any details you include about your situation.

Information collected automatically. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed) for security, reliability, and basic usage measurement. We use Google Ads conversion tracking: when you reach our site from a Google advertisement, Google may set cookies and store an ad-click identifier (GCLID) so that we can measure whether the visit results in a form submission or a phone call. We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party analytics services. We display client reviews using a third-party reviews widget (Elfsight), which loads content from its servers when you view a page containing it and may collect standard technical data or set functional cookies needed to deliver the widget.

Phone call data. If you call us, we may keep records of the call (your phone number, the date and time, and duration), and calls placed through our advertising may be recorded for lead-tracking purposes as disclosed at the start of the call.

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or tax documents through the public website. Sensitive client documents are exchanged only after engagement, through a secure portal.

2. How We Use Information
We use the information to respond to your inquiry, evaluate and provide the services you request, operate and improve the site, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, and meet legal and professional obligations.

Retention. We retain inquiry and contact information for as long as needed to respond to you and to satisfy our professional record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (for example, secure document storage, email delivery, identity verification, and payment processing), and only so they can perform those functions, under confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights.

Information you provide as a client is also handled under our separate Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act privacy notice, which we provide to clients. Tax return information is protected under Internal Revenue Code Section 7216 and is not used or disclosed except as you authorize or as the law permits.

4. SMS / Mobile Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information, including mobile phone numbers, for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of personal information exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We may share limited personal information with trusted service providers who assist in operating our website or delivering services on our behalf, provided they are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it solely for service-related purposes. We may also disclose information to government agencies or regulators when required by law.

5. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. Our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. We do not knowingly allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your activity across other websites for their own purposes through our site.

6. Cookies
Our site uses functional cookies necessary for it to operate (including any set by our reviews widget provider) and Google Ads conversion-tracking cookies, which record that you arrived from one of our advertisements and whether you subsequently contacted us. These cookies are not used to build an advertising profile of you across other websites. You can manage or opt out of Google's ad cookies through your Google Ads Settings and your browser settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are sent; some parts of the site may not function properly without them.

7. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, as described in our internal information security program. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Your Choices (California Residents)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, the right to correct it, the right to request that we delete it, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share data for cross-context behavioral advertising). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights and will respond consistent with applicable law and our professional record-retention obligations. 10. Changes
We may update this Policy. The effective date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.

11. SMS Communications
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive SMS communications from PacificWestTax, your consent and mobile number will be used solely for communication related to your inquiry or services you request. SMS consent and phone numbers are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
